Festival of Colors (Holi)

Holi, or also known as the Festival of Colors, is a Hindu festival held every spring. If you want to read about the purpose and history of the festival click here. There is a Hare Krishna temple in my little city of Spanish Fork and they hold a Holi Festival every spring right here in good old Spanish Fork. This year's was the largest Festival of Colors in the nation, there were thousands and thousands of people. In India they usually smear colors made with water or flour or something like that on each other but at this one we throw dyed cornstarch that is flower scented. I thought it smelled like Jasmine but I'm not sure. This was my first time going to this festival, though I've been to quite a few others at the Krishna temple.
We had so much fun! And as you can see from the pictures we got covered (sorry, they were taken on my phone and are pretty bad quality). I decided I am going to definitely go to it again next year.
I thought there were so many people at the first throwing of the colors but then the second one almost doubled... It was crazy that that tiny space of land could fit so many people. During the second one, my  friends and I went in the middle of the crowd and the colors were so thick in the air we could barely breathe! And then we couldn't even get out the middle because the people were just packed too tightly. It was an interesting experience haha... but I am very glad I went.
Well, that's all I have to say about it. Have a great day!

This is the last I'll ask... to meet me here at dawn.

Alright here are two things you should know about me:
1. I love Priscilla Ahn
2. I LOVE Andrew Bird.

And Matt showed me this amazing video of them doing a cover together of "Meet Me Here at Dawn" by Cass Maccombs and I am absolutely in love with it. :)

I can't even express to you the hatred I feel towards my American Heritage class right now...

But I think I will refrain from making you endure my miserable ranting. Instead, here is a list of some things that make me happy:

-Summer.
-Sunflowers.
-Fruit.
-Road trips.
-Border's hot chocolate.
-Long walks with no particular destination.
-Laughing so hard you can't breathe.
-Traveling.
-My sisters, because I think they are probably the best ones ever.
-My parents because they are also the best ones ever.
-Music.
-Chocolate.
-Turquoise.
-Pretending that I will someday have musical talent.
-My blue shoes.
-Sunny days.
-Rainy days.
-When my fingernails are painted.
-Playing at the park (especially on the swings).
-My baby cousin Sage because she is adorable.
-Simon, (the family cat) he's senile, but I love him like crazy anyway.
-Lists about things that make people happy.
-Playing around with photos even though I don't have photoshop.
-My guitar.
-My crazy friends.

I think I will end it there, but there's a lot more. :) Oh, I do kind of love the fact that I forgot today was St. Patrick's day but still managed to randomly choose my green shirt to wear. I think that may be the first time I have worn green on this holiday in many many years haha.

Anyway... have a fabulous day!
