sunday thought.

I was going through my old emails this week, deleting unnecessary ones and marking important ones, and I came across a talk Camille gave in church a few months ago. She'd sent it to me to edit. I remembered it was pretty inspiring so I opened it up to skim. The last line really stood out to me:

"Learning about Christ is essential because we should all be striving to be like him.... If we are ever unsure of ourselves, just learn about who Christ is and we’ll know who we are supposed to be."

She's a wise one, that girl.

art project.

Jamie, Parker, Robert, and I were bored last night. So Jamie told us she had records and paint! This is the result.
This one is mine. :)
It was a pretty cool idea.

over the holiday weekend.

My mom and I made these. The lighting was terrible so the photo quality isn't great. All we used were four blank canvases, spray paint, and fake plants/flowers. They're not perfect, but we were proud anyway. :) It was fun.

lately...

This is a little late... but it's been a busy week.

Last Friday Camille, Jacob, Braden and I went to Salt Lake City. Jacob was about to leave for his mission (he left Wednesday) so this was kind of our last hurrah with him. It was really wonderful. We walked the grounds of Temple Square, then we headed to Hatch's for hot chocolate, which is simply amazing! If you haven't been there yet, you really should check it out. We were all starving (ahem some of us complaining more than others.....) so we had to find the closest pizza place. We settled on Este Pizzeria which ended up being pretty amazing too. All in all, it was a really good night and I'm so glad we got to hang out with Jacob one last time (Camille did a few more times of course).

Awwww.
This is my favorite of them. =)
Este Pizzeria. Pretty delicious.
Hatch's hot chocolate... I love it.
My red skinny jeans hehe.
Braden was excited to be at Temple Square apparently!

I actually really enjoyed Valentine's Day this year even though it was lacking in the boy department. I went home to hang out with my li'l sister, who was heartsick after saying her last goodbyes to Jacob. She's absolutely amazing though. She's so spiritual and strong--I just want to be like her! We planned on watching a chick flick or something but instead we ended up talking non-stop for about 4 hours. Nothing is better than really good, long conversations with your sister.

The next morning she found this on our driveway. Awww.

On Thursday I performed my first voice solo ever! I am taking an intro to singing class and we have to perform in front of the class a lot. I shook sooo bad and my voice was a lot more quiet than when I practice, but it was actually a great experience. I was just glad I did it and didn't pass out! My teacher and the class were really really nice about it too. So this time my goal was to make it through the whole song. Next goal: actually sing loud enough for people to hear.

Then Yesterday (Friday), I attended my very first opera. This was also for my intro to singing class. Two of my teachers performed in it and it was so cool to see them up there on stage implementing what they teach us. :)

So, despite having two exams and two major papers, soloing for the first time, and comforting a heartbroken sister, it really was a great week. Sometimes, I just love life.

Oh! Also, Camille got accepted to BYU. I am so excited and so proud! She is going to love it. :)

The Real World...

I found this photo on pinterest. I think it's beautiful. Anyway, that's not what my post today is about. I read a blog post that a facebook friend linked to her page: Whose World is "Realer"?

This article gave me a lot to think about. I would highly recommend reading it. It reminded me that we all have "beams" in our eyes/problems/pride that blind us in some way or another, but we just need to look at every person and see the worth of an infinite soul there and love them for it.  I think it's important to love people no matter what they believe and not attack what they value so much.

Also, I almost kind of know this guy (well, my mom knows him). How cool is that?
